Rethink Living Aboard

December 15, 2020

This Tipsy Tuesday video features eggnog and Christmas cheer… oh and some food for thought about liveaboard life.

Our Liveaboard Journey

When we started our liveaboard journey, we were kinda lame. We had a large 51′ dock queen of a boat, and we were totally okay with that. It was a good entry-level liveaboard boat for us, but we quickly realized we wanted more.

Get Off The Dock!

We wanted to get off the dock, to be more specific. But our boat was so old, with so many maintenance headaches, and wasn’t fit for the travel we had in mind.

That’s how we ended up with RumHaven. With RumHaven, we didn’t want anything to do with marinas. Why? Marina’s are expensive. And for whatever reason they don’t think to fondly of liveaboards. In fact, more and more restrictions, fees and regulations are popping up that greatly impact those who liveaboard.

Rethink Living Aboard

Anyways, that’s the reason for our latest tipsy Tuesday video. We want to challenge folks to think differently about living aboard. Do you need to live at a marina full-time? Can you live on the hook? Can you travel while working remotely? Why wait until retirement to liveaboard? You can totally liveaboard with kids too! (Take the Wandering Kapps for example).

We chat about all of these things in the video below, and challenge future (and even current) liveaboards to rethink their experience.
