Goblins and Pirates

March 15, 2017

October flew by, and before we knew it, it was Halloween!

Would we get any trick-or-treaters?? Highly unlikely, since there was only one family with a kid who lived at the marina, Kim and Randy and their son Corey. Together, we cleverly nick-named them “Kandy,” kind of like how we were nick-named “Wiff.”

Corey is an awesome kid. We joke that he is our “dream child.” Not only does he know everything about boating and fishing, he also knows how to sail, wakeboard, golf, play the ukulele, and more!

He even took Will and I out on their little sunfish sailboat. As we glided along the water, Corey explained how it worked, and kindly yelled “DUCK!” so we wouldn’t get hit in the head with the mast. 😆

As I suspected, we had no trick-or-treaters for Halloween. However, Bobby and Christina came over and carved pumpkins with us, which is always fun!

We also attended the Fort Myers Beach Annual Pirate Festival, which apparently is a staple event on the island. We scrounged together our best pirate attire, and headed to the trolly stop for our first night out and about our new home town.

The trolly crowd was fun, and a start to what turned out to be a good night. We met other pirates, and received funny looks from those who had no idea it was pirate night. Argh!

A Southern Maryland girl who traded northern rivers for that Gulf water goodness. Growing up around boats, full time #boatlife was a natural fit for the “iff” of Team Wiff.
